This is a variation of the very first Children’s Moment I gave, at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Sacramento, CA around 1995.
Tell the Children you have a device which shows when God began loving them and when God will stop loving them. Pull out of your bag various round shapes – a donut, a Frisbee, a ball – the more outrageous the better. Have fun with this. For each object, look for the beginning and the end of the object and when you can’t find it, dismiss the object in a broad manner. Finally, bring out an inexpensive, small rubber ball (used golf balls also work). The the Children that this is a symbol of God’s endless love for them – there is no beginning and there is no end; just like God’s love. Give each of the children a ball to take hoe as a reminder.
PRAYER: Thank you God for your never-ending love. May we always remember that you are here for us.
