Who Is My Neighbor?

Message:  Be helpful to everyone

Bible Passage:  Luke 10:25-37 (the good Samaritan)

Read the story of the Good Samaritan.  It is probably best to do so from a Children’s Bible or other simple reading, like from The Message version.  Ask the kids who they believe is their neighbor.  Tell them you will show them who their neighbor is.  Have them follow you down the aisle to the door of the church.  As you pass the members of the Congregation, say, “Hello, Neighbor!” Encourage the children to say, “Hello, Neighbor!” Open the doors of the church to the outside.  As people drive by, yell out “Hello, neighbor!”  Do this repeatedly.  Then turn to the children and say “There is your neighbor. And if my voice could carry around the world, they would all be my neighbor – and your neighbor too!  So go forth and greet your neighbors with the love that Jesus has for you and wants you to share.”
