The Christian Clock

This is one of my favorites and requires a large, simple clock, which can be easily found for $5.00 at Home Goods stores or thrift shops. You should have the cover removed prior to the Moment.  The clock should have a second hand as well as the hour and minute hands, all of which should be easily removable.  To ensure a smooth Moment, remove the hands of the clock and put them back on prior to the Moment.

Lesson:  God loves us and is always with us

Bible Passage:

Tell the children you have a very special clock for them –  a Christian clock!

(With the cover already off), remove the second hand, saying that God will always give us a second chance if we make a mistake, so we don’t need a second hand.

Remove the minute hand, because we should be good Christians every minute of every day.  And besides, God is watching over us all the time, so we don’t need that.

Then remove the hour hand because Jesus  tells us that no one knows the hour or the day that God will call on us, so we must always be ready.  God also tells us not to worry, because if we worry, do we add a single hour to our day?  We do not.

So what is left?  Just the face.  And for this Christian clock, think of it as the face of God, who is always looking out for us and protecting us.

This Christian clock is a wonderful tool to remember that God gives us a second chance (show second hand), to follow God every minute of the day (show minute hand), and though we don’t know the hour when God will call us, we do know that God’s face is always shining before us.

Let’s say a prayer.
